The Beach
Valhalla Point is located on the tip of a peninsula on Crawl
Key. All of our rooms face the beach. We have a swimming beach,
a rarity here in the Keys as most beaches are next to the
flats. We often have manatees that swim up to the docks, dolphins
that come in to play and stingrays that feed early in the
morning. If you look hard enough you might be the first to
spot a mermaid!
As you look from our beach you will see the Atlantic Ocean
and Curry Hammock State Park, which is on the next island.
One gets a quiet and remote feeling here when actually we
are just a couple miles from town.
Open your room door, take a few steps and you are on the
beach. There you will find lounge chairs waiting. This is
a perfect place to lie back, unwind, and read in peace. Close
your eyes and listen to the palm fronds rustle in the ocean
breeze or open your eyes and watch the pelicans dive for fish.
You can work on your tan or sit in the shade beneath the palms...
Off the tip of the beach we have a dock on the water with
plenty of sun. You can sunbathe here while feeding the fish,
trailing your fingertips through the water, and enjoy the
ocean breeze. At night it is the perfect spot to gaze at the
stars.
